Arizonans who want to travel on or after Oct. 1, 2020, will have to get an identification card that meets federal REAL ID Act security requirements. The new ID card will be needed to gain access to airports, restricted federal buildings, military bases, and more.
It's available as both an Arizona Driver License and identification card. The cost is $25 and the card is valid for up to eight years.
Applicants must apply in person, but may complete an application and make an appointment online before visiting a Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) office or an authorized third-party Driver License location. Visit the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) website for more information, including a list of required documents.
