Open House: El Rio Wash Drainage Improvements Project

The Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Pima County Regional Flood Control District invite the public to an open house for the El Rio Wash Drainage Improvements Project on Wednesday, June 12, 6-7:30 p.m. at the El Rio Neighborhood Center, 1390 W. Speedway Blvd.

The purpose of this project is to address historic drainage issues resulting in flooding from the El Rio Wash as the water leaves the El Rio Golf Course, flows through the downstream neighborhood and associated streets, and ends up in the Silvercroft Wash at Riverview Boulevard. The 90-day project will create detention basins to control outflow and provide flood peak reduction making downstream channels more effective.

For more information about the open house, please contact Michael Graham at (520) 837-6686 or Michael.Graham@tucsonaz.gov or John Spiker at john.spiker@pima.gov.
