A developer from Kansas City, Missouri wants to build a 20-story tower on East Broadway, between Scott and Sixth avenues. The 250,000-square-foot tower would be Tucson's second-tallest building. The structure, across from Tucson Electric Power, could be as high as 300 feet.
The Rio Nuevo taxing district this week signed off on entering into formal discussions with JE Dunn Construction for the development, which could open by 2020.
The company says it's partnering locally with commercial real estate firm CBRE to identify potential tenants for the project, dubbed 75 Broadway. The half-acre site is now a parking lot owned by Pima County.
