Public Invited to See New Fire Engine and Plans to Rebuild Station #8

The City of Tucson will host a media and community event this week at Fire Station #8, 255 W. King Road, to dedicate one of the four new fire engines most recently purchased through the Tucson Delivers program. The event is Thursday, Aug. 29, at 9 a.m.

Those in attendance may join Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and the Station #8 firefighters in the traditional Push-In ceremony to dedicate the new engine. In addition, Tucson Fire Department staff will take people on a pre-demolition tour to learn about expected benefits and improvements in the future station.

In May 2017, Tucson voters approved Proposition 101, now known as Tucson Delivers, to fund better streets and a safer city. Funds from Tucson Delivers can only be spent on items approved by voters.
