Public Meeting Tomorrow to Discuss Kennedy Park Master Plan

Ward 1 Council Member Regina Romero and the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation department are asking for public input in a discussion regarding the future needs and improvements to John F. Kennedy Park at Mission Road and Ajo Way. A public meeting will be held tomorrow from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Fred Archer Center, 1665 S. La Cholla Blvd.

The meeting will be the first of several opportunities for area residents, park patrons, user organizations, and interested citizens to provide input. At the meeting, general information about the existing park facilities will be available, and the public will be encouraged to provide thoughts, ideas, and visions for the future of Kennedy Park.

After the planning team has had an opportunity to review the initial public input, a follow-up meeting will be held to allow the public to review and provide comment on a draft master plan for the 172-acre park. While there currently are no funds available for future development, an updated Mayor and Council approved master plan is the first step toward seeking investments for park improvements.
