Members of the military, police, fire, and first responders will be joining their families for the 9/11 Memorial Tower Challenge on Sept. 11 at 6:30 a.m. at Arizona Stadium. They will climb 2,071 steps, which was the height of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers that were destroyed by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.
The challenge is to honor the first responders who lost their lives on 9/11 and the military that serves our country. All proceeds raised by the participants will support the 100 Club of Arizona and the Tucson Fisher House.
United States Air Force Lt. General Chris Nowland, commander of the 12th Air Force, will be the keynote speaker. For more information and registration, please visit the 9/11 Tower Challenge.
