Reid Park Zoo to Expand Animal Health Center

The University of Arizona is providing $350,000 in support of Reid Park Zoo and the new $3.85 million expansion to the Animal Health Center. The UA and Reid Park Zoological Society are partnering in building a new teaching and research facility at the Zoo. Additions include more room and better equipment to care for the zoo animals, and students from the UA's new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Education Program will have the opportunity to train in whole-life animal care by observing and assisting in the Animal Health Center.

Reid Park Zoo's existing animal center is about 3,000 square feet, and the expansion will add another 7,000 square feet.
