Thousands of people watched today's 94th annual Tucson Rodeo Parade that started this morning near Park Avenue and Ajo Way and ended at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds at 6th Avenue and Irvington Road.
The rodeo, known as La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros, began last weekend, bringing cowboys and cowgirls come to town. The rodeo features bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, and more. Cowgirls take the reins in barrel racing.
The Tucson Rodeo is considered one of the top 25 professional rodeos in North America. If you plan to attend the competition, please note that public safety rules allow for only clear bags at the venue, similar to the rules at University of Arizona sporting events. Prohibited items include large purses, backpacks, camera bags, fanny packs, and anything that can't be seen through.
