With a lull in the monsoon expected over the next few days, now is a good time to be prepared for the next round of summer thunderstorms. The City of Tucson's Transportation Department is still offering a free self-service sandbag station in the Hi Corbett Field parking lot. There is a limit of 10 sandbags, and people are encouraged to bring their own shovels to fill their bags. Watch the video below for more information about the program. If you don't want to fill the sandbags yourself, the City offers free, pre-filled sandbags in the north parking lot of the Tucson Rodeo Grounds, 4823 S. Sixth Ave., every Wednesday, 4-8 p.m., until the Operation Splash Program concludes in the middle of September.
