The Tucson Audubon Society is hosting the annual Southeast Arizona Birding Festival this Wednesday through Sunday, Aug. 7-11. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel-Reid Park, 445 S. Alvernon Way, is the headquarters for the event.
The festival offers opportunities for nature photographers to hone their skills in the field or the classroom. The schedule includes free talks and workshops, games, and vendors. Some lectures and certain field trips to southeast Arizona’s best birding sites require a fee.
Workshops and trips are led by local and international experts. Saturday, Aug. 10, features a "Kid's Zone" at the Nature Expo for kids at the hotel. The City of Tucson’s Sweetwater Wetlands and Reid Park are also sites for festival events.
