TEP Transmission Line Upgrade to Cause Brief Water Service Interruptions West of Tucson

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) will be upgrading electrical transmission lines as part of a road project on State Highway 86, and the work will affect water service. The lines serve a Tucson Water booster station that provides service to approximately 3,600 customers. Water service to those customers will be interrupted from 8 p.m. tomorrow until 5 a.m. Saturday.

The affected area generally is west of Kinney Road, south to about Drexel Road, and west and northwest of San Joaquin Road.

Customers should store water in advance for drinking and cooking. Low water pressure and air in water pipes may be experienced after service is restored. Air in water lines can be addressed by running an outdoor faucet closest to the water meter for a short period of time. Water pressure should return to normal after all pipes are refilled.
