Traffic on First Avenue, north of Grant Road, is shifted to allow work crews to install a new underground water line across First Avenue. The work began this morning and is scheduled to be completed by next Wednesday, Dec. 20. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Work will not take place Friday-Sunday, Dec. 15-17. During the work, northbound First Avenue will be reduced to one travel lane, and southbound travel will continue to have two travel lanes.
Also, Fontana Avenue, north of Grant Road, will be closed to travel this Wednesday and Thursday to allow work crews to construct a new sewer manhole on Fontana Avenue. Sixth Avenue, south of Grant Road, will not be affected by this work. Work to widen and enhance Grant Road from Stone Avenue to Park Avenue began in March.
