Starting Monday, March 18, at about 10 a.m., Valencia Road east of Kolb Road will be closed to travel for approximately four months. The closure will allow work crews to reconstruct the section of Valencia from Kolb east to the newly constructed southeast ramp.
During this closure, crews will remove the existing asphalt on Valencia Road; install new underground water lines, sewer lines, and underground storm drain systems; add new roadway subgrade; and install new asphalt, landscaping, streetlights, and sidewalks. All westbound and eastbound Valencia traffic on the east side of Kolb will use the new southeast ramp to access Kolb.
A new traffic signal has been installed on Kolb, south of Valencia, at the southeast ramp to help facilitate this traffic shift. Starting tomorrow, March 14, the signal will be set to flash yellow for four days to alert motorists of next Monday's signal activation.
