Trees Planted on Earth Day

As part of Earth Day 2019, Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and others planted seven trees on Monday, April 22, to commemorate the day. The trees, planted in the downtown core, were made possible through the combined efforts of Tucson Clean and Beautiful's Trees for Tucson program, the City of Tucson, and the Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP).

Four different species of trees were planted: Red Push Pistache, Velvet Mesquite, Desert Willow, and Texas Mountain Laurel. The new trees replaced diseased trees or those damaged by vehicles.
