Tucson City Council Urges Governor to Declare Shelter-In-Place Order

The Mayor and Tucson City Council yesterday voted to urge Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey to issue an Executive Order to force stricter actions to help stem the spread of COVID-19 in our state, including the issuance of a shelter-in-place order, which would direct the closure of non-essential operations throughout Arizona.

Mayor and Council also endorsed Tucson Mayor Regina Romero's March 17 declaration of a local emergency and her use of emergency powers during the coronavirus pandemic.
