Tucson has been chosen as one of 50 cities nationwide to participate in a movement to promote youth volunteerism outdoors. The program is part of First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move! Outside" initiative geared toward encouraging young people to work, play, and understand the value of nature. Several community organizations will share $212,000 in grant funding from the American Express Foundation for restoration projects in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area and Saguaro National Park.
