The Tucson Earth Day Festival and Cyclovia Tucson unite this weekend for a Sunday packed with healthy, environmentally-friendly activities. The free, family-oriented events will help participants discover neighborhoods and enjoy a multitude of activities along Cyclovia’s car-free route. Cyclovia is a chance for people to enjoy the outdoors from outside of a vehicle.
The route begins on Park Avenue, south of Broadway Blvd. and meanders for 2.5 miles through neighborhoods up to Himmel Park, just south of Speedway. You also can start at the Earth Day Festival and Parade at Himmel Park and work your way south toward Park Avenue.
Approximately 60 organizations will be at the park to raise awareness about ways to help the planet. Enjoy hidden treasures, live music, food trucks, and numerous activities sprinkled throughout the neighborhoods while biking, walking, skating, or dancing. The Earth Day Festival and Cyclovia events begin at 10 a.m. Sunday and continue until 3 p.m.
