Tucson Fire Department (TFD) training is underway for new Zoll Cardiac Monitors purchased with money from the voter-approved half-cent City sales tax, now known as Tucson Delivers. In an Arizona Daily Star newspaper article, TFD says it hopes to have the monitors deployed by Dec. 20 on all vehicles that respond to patients in emergencies.
The department also recently received new turnout gear as part of the sales tax revenue. Other equipment and capital needs also are being funded for use by TFD and the Tucson Police Department (TPD) as part of the five-year Tucson Delivers program. TPD recently received new body cameras and bulletproof vests.
