Tucson International Airport Readies for $28M Expansion

The Tucson Airport Authority yesterday approved a $28.3 million terminal improvement project. The multi-phase plan will expand Tucson International Airport’s security checkpoint areas, add concessions in post-security areas, and improve critical infrastructure.

Construction on the project is expected to begin in June and be finished by November 2017. Funding comes from the Federal Aviation Administration's passenger facility charge program, and the Tucson Airport Authority says it will pay for the rest.
