Tucson Police Department Accepts Safety Grant and Produces Video

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) is the recipient of a $25,000 Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Enforcement Grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

The grant will provide overtime expenses for balanced enforcement efforts toward violations involving motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Deployments will take place through September 2018. Enforcement locations have been chosen from statistical information, community input, and high-usage areas.

Meanwhile, TPD and the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) recently produced this short video below encouraging everyone to do their part to ensure our roads are safe. Earlier this year, James Parker was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the road. His brother, Richard, reflects on James' loss and how it has affected him.
