Tucson Police Department Increases DUI Enforcement for Super Bowl Weekend

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) Impaired Driver Enforcement Unit will increase DUI enforcement efforts this Super Bowl weekend. Additional officers and resources will be deployed throughout the community in efforts to increase the awareness of motorists regarding the dangers of impaired driving, deter those who may be intoxicated from driving, and investigate DUI offenses to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the road.

This deployment is one of 15 scheduled for 2018, funded with a grant from the DUI Abatement Council through the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The grant provides overtime expenses to enhance DUI enforcement efforts throughout Tucson. With the funding, TPD will join other area law enforcement agencies in weekend DUI deployments and saturation patrols as part of the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force.
