Tucson Police Department Receives State Grants

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) is the recipient of three grants from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

One is a Traffic Investigator Training Grant for $10,070 to provide specialized training for traffic reconstruction at serious and fatal collision scenes. Another award is a Collision Investigation Equipment Grant for $30,000 to purchase a FARO Technologies 3D crime scene scanner that can take thousands of point readings in a matter of minutes. The other grant is an Occupant Protection Grant for $42,910 that will be used to heighten the awareness of the public to the hazards of non-seatbelt use and child restraint violations.
