Tucson Police Department Recognizes Two High Schools to Produce Distracted Driving PSAs

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) recognized Palo Verde High School and Tanque Verde High School for their public service announcement videos on distracted driving.

In February, TPD had asked all local high schools to create a video to raise awareness of distracted driving and to get the students to talk about the dangers with each other. The department received 15 submissions.

The students involved with creating and producing the winning videos were given certificates from Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus. AT&T, which does the #ItCanWait campaign, also supported the challenge and joined TPD in giving prizes that included gift cards.

The videos can be watched on YouTube and on TPD’s social media. The story is also available in the Arizona Daily Star newspaper.
