Tucson Police Officer Recruiting is Underway

The City of Tucson is accepting applications for police officer recruit through Sept. 16. Applicants for this position must complete both the online application and online questionnaire. Testing will be held at the City's Public Safety Academy, 10001 S. Wilmot Road, on Oct. 11, 12, and 13.

The training process for a police officer is extensive. A new police recruit will attend the academy for 22 weeks to learn the skills and functions of the job while under the guidance of experienced police staff. The probation period is 18 months, and officers are required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
