The Tucson Police Department (TPD) is recognizing one its officers for her bravery in saving the life of a 43-year-old man she found lying on the railroad tracks last month near West Speedway Boulevard and Interstate 10. On its Facebook page, TPD honored Officer Alexandra Rambaran for her bravery and demonstration of the TPD Values of Service Orientation, Leadership and Professionalism.
"Officer Rambaran was able to get the adult male off the railroad track while the railroad arms were going down and a train was quickly approaching," the Facebook post said. "As the train was passing, Officer Rambaran held the adult male down on the ground while he was actively resisting. This detention ensured his safety until the train passed. Officer Rambaran was quick to act while maintaining an empathetic and compassionate demeanor to an individual who was in crisis."
