Tucson's 244th Birthday is Tomorrow, Aug. 20

Celebrate the 244th anniversary of the founding of the Tucson Presidio with free birthday cake, music and performances, Tucson's historic flags, and community tables and information. The free fiesta takes place at the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum, 196 N. Court Ave. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the event is from 5-8:30 p.m.

There will be appearances by Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and Pima County Board of Supervisors Chair Richard Elias. There will also be posthumous recognition of Mr. Bobby Benton with special guest Ted Ramirez, Tucson’s official troubadour.

The fiesta is presented by the Tucson-Pima County Historical Commission in partnership with the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum.
