In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Tugo Bike Share is offering a free monthly pass for those who need to travel on an urgent basis. The public can take unlimited 30-minute station-to-station trips for 30 days free of charge.
After the free pass expires, it will roll into an $18 monthly subscription unless canceled. Tugo staff is disinfecting bikes and stations on a regular basis. Riders are encouraged to maintain physical distancing and wipe down bikes with disinfectant before and after use.
Bicycle riders should also remember to be extra attentive when riding near the streetcar tracks along downtown, 4th Avenue, and the University of Arizona main gate. Markings include green bike boxes, bike dots, and shared-lane markings to help guide cyclists to where they need to be in order to stay safe and appear more visible.
When the streetcar was introduced in 2014, the City of Tucson produced a video that describes the safest ways to ride.
