The United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) provides free tax preparation services to local individuals and families. Volunteers are needed to help low- and moderate-income Tucsonans get their taxes done, help them save money on preparation fees, and avoid predatory lending practices. Volunteers also greet clients and manage VITA tax preparation sites.
No previous experience in preparing taxes is necessary. Roles include interview specialists and tax preparers. For questions on volunteering, orientations, and training, contact Rachel Cheeseman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
