Work begins Monday to improve the pavement conditions on 22nd Street from Kolb Road to Sarnoff Drive. Crews will begin the project with the lowering of manhole and water valve covers. That portion of the project is scheduled to be finished by next Thursday. Work will take place from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Crews from Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin milling (removing asphalt) and repaving 22nd Street on July 22, working both day and night hours. The paving work is scheduled to wrap up on Aug. 6, followed by utility adjustments. The project is part of the voter-approved, $100 million, five-year Road Recovery street bond program.
