Votes Still Being Counted for Special Election

Although some votes still need to be counted, the latest results show Arizona voters favoring both propositions on yesterday's Special Election ballot.

Prop. 123 increases the distribution of state education funding from the State Land Trust. As of this morning, it was winning by less than 1 percent of the vote.

Prop. 124 is a measure to change the way the Arizona's public safety pension system pays increases in benefits to retirees. Of the ballots counted, 70 percent voted for approval.

Pima County says it still has about 8,500 early ballots and 1,300 provisional ballots to count.
