City Court Phased Reopening Began This Week

Tucson City Court began a phased reopening, with restrictions, on Monday, June 1. Reopening protocols set by the Arizona Supreme Court require staff and visitors to receive a temperature scan before entering the building, wear a mask or face covering, and socially distance to the extent possible.

There is limited court access. The public should also arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled hearing times to accommodate the new safety and screening practices.

Another Webinar Scheduled for ‘Navigating the Impacts of COVID-19 for Small Businesses’

The City of Tucson's Office of Economic Initiatives (ConnectTucson) is inviting local businesses to join a free webinar on Monday, June 8, from 3-4 p.m., on the latest help for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn what is happening in the retail industry and how the International Council of Shopping Centers is supporting small businesses.

Monthly Household Hazardous Waste Event Canceled

The monthly Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event scheduled for Saturday, June 6, has been canceled to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The City of Tucson has halted all HHW collection until further notice at the main site at 2440 W. Sweetwater Drive, the Los Reales Landfill site at 5300 E. Los Reales Road, and the monthly collection event at 7575 E. Speedway Blvd.

Team Up to Clean Up Next Week

The City of Tucson, along with Tucson Clean & Beautiful and United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, will lead a citywide cleanup effort the week of June 8-13. As many COVID-19 restrictions are slowly being phased out, the weeklong event is an opportunity for City employees and the entire community to go outside their homes to work together to improve the visual appearance of Tucson as we move toward reopening.
