The Winterhaven neighborhood is hosting its 70th year of the Festival of Lights, one of the longest-running festivals of its kind in the country. It runs from tomorrow, Dec. 14, until Sunday, Dec. 29, 6-10 p.m., every evening.
The festival is designed for walking, but guests can opt to see the lights on a hayride wagon, a bus trolley, or a pedal-powered group bike. Reservations are recommended for these options.
Entrances to the neighborhood are on Fort Lowell Road, Tucson Boulevard, Country Club Road, and Prince Road. There are no official parking areas, and vehicles are not allowed in the neighborhood during festival hours until the Dec. 29 closing night.
Tucson Electric Power is the title sponsor. While admission is free, those attending are asked to bring a donation of food or money for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Email Winterhavenpublicevents@gmail.com with any questions.
