Three workshops are scheduled to get public input on management strategies for the section of the Santa Cruz River that runs from Grant Road to Trico Road. These follow a recent survey where hundreds of people shared preferences and ideas for improvement projects for the river. The first workshop is scheduled for tonight at 7:30 at Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center, 1660 W. Ruthrauff Road.
Other workshops are scheduled for this Thursday, Oct. 12, and next Wednesday, Oct. 18, at other locations. Each will focus on a segment of the Santa Cruz River. The Sonoran Institute and the Pima County Regional Flood Control District are hosting the workshops.
See the schedule for meeting times and locations, and register online at the Santa Cruz River Workshops website.
