John F. Kennedy Park Master Plan Update

The Project The Park Project Contact

The Project

The City of Tucson is in the process of updating the Master Plan for John F. Kennedy Park. With this update the Parks and Recreation Department will:

  • Conduct an assessment of the condition of park facilities
  • Solicit public input related to the needs of park users
  • Solicit public input related to the community’s vision for Kennedy Park
  • Prepare a draft Master Plan showing proposed improvements
  • Present the draft Master Plan to the public for review and comment
  • Develop a long-range plan for park enhancements
  • Identify priorities for park repair and improvement work

As a historical note, the land associated with Kennedy Park was acquired by the City from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). A condition of the acquisition was that a “plan of development” for the park be prepared and periodically updated. This Master Plan will also address the requirement for a periodic update.
