Schoolzout program (Ages 5-14)
This program is for youth 5-14 years old, (Kindergarten through Middle School only) during out of school time (Fall, Holiday and Spring Break). Activities are supervised, engaging and fun. Includes games, sports, social interaction, dance, art projects and nutrition based learning activities. Contact Center staff or see the Youth Programs page for more information.
In-Betweeners Club (IBC) (Ages 12-14)
The IBC Club is offered during the summer at Oury Center. Contact Registration Services for information (791-4788) about cost . This program for kids ages 11-14 that are in middle school. Children get homework help, a snack, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and guest speakers.
Youth Open Drop-in Recreation (Age 7+)
Must be at least 7 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or adult. Daily or quarterly pass required.
Oury Recreation Center is located in the historic Barrio Anita neighborhood. It dates back to the 1930s when it was the site of many softball leagues.
Oury Recreation Center lies in the heart of the David G. Herrera/Ramon Quiroz Park. The park is named after David Herrera and Ramon Quiroz. The two gentlemen were former recreation coordinators at Oury Center and made a big impact on the lives of youth in the Barrio Anita Neighborhood.
