Special Event Support & Banners

Park Tucson prides itself on working with community, business, and charitable groups to support events in Downtown Tucson. From block parties to major conventions, Park Tucson can help with street closures, special parking, and more.

Street Closures or Barricading

Street closures and barricading are administered by the Tucson Department of Transportation's Traffic Engineering Division. For information call (520) 791-4259 or visit the City's Special Events web page.

To Reserve Parking Spaces for Special Events

Park Tucson can arrange to hood parking meters Downtown or in the University area. If you need to hood meters or reserve loading zones for a special event, please call (520) 791-5071. The following fees are applicable:

  • Downtown: $4.50/meter (includes handicapped) per day
  • University area: $9.00/meter (includes handicapped) per day
  • $20.00 fee if arrangements are not made prior to 24 hours of event
  • $20.00 fee for requests for services and/or enforcement outside of normal business hours

Fees may be paid by check, credit card, or cash in person at Park Tucson, 110 E. Pennington St. Suite 150.  If not given 24 hour advanced notice, Park Tucson may not be able to accomodate your request.

Loading Zones

Loading zones can be rented for $25/day per loading zone. There is a late penalty fee of $20 per loading zone if not given 24 hours advanced notice.


If you would like to install banners to promote your business district or a special event, please refer to the Downtown Destinations Signage Identity Manual pdf for design parameters and specifications.

Banners within the Park Tucson service area — from the West Side through Downtown, 4th Avenue, and Main Gate Square to the University of Arizona — must be compatible with the graphics of the Downtown Destinations Program.
