PDSD will be implementing the following changes on January 1, 2018
- Electronic plan review for all development packages
All development package applications may be submitted electronically starting January 1st. The process to submit a development package will change slightly to include a five day completeness review. A comprehensive checklist is being prepared so applicants are aware of the minimum submittal criteria. A grace period will be in effect starting January 1st that will continue to allow paper submissions for a short time. All applications for a development package submittal must be electronic starting April 1, 2018. Paper plans for development packages will no longer be accepted after April 1, 2018.
- Property owner information on all applications
Starting January 1, all applications must include contact information for property owner(s). Communicating with the property owner(s) allows the greatest level of transparency relating to project activity.
- Email contact information
In preparation for the City of Tucson's new permitting software, email addresses must be provided for all associated persons (where applicable) to include: owner, applicant, contractor, architect, engineer. With the new software, we are anticipating automated communications for various purposes to notify the appropriate persons associated with completed activities such as plan review and inspection comments.
- Contractor letter of intent
All permits and activities that require a licensed contractor must be accompanied by a letter of intent from the contractor of record. The letter can be provided any time during the application process but must be received prior to permit issuance. To expedite permit processing, please include any associated tax documents along with the letter of intent.
