Planning Commission will hold a study session on Wednesday, February 2 on the proposed commercial parking text amendment to require new commercial and multifamily development to be EV-ready and expand eligibility for the Individual Parking Plan to affordable housing developments, restaurants and bars.
Mayor & Council directed City staff to develop amendments to the Unified Development Code (UDC) to:
- Require new multifamily and commercial development to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure (initiated June 22, 2021)
- Allow for restaurant patio expansions as part of the permanent Expanded Restaurant Seating Program (initiated August 10, 2021)
- Allow affordable housing developments to utilize the Individual Parking Plan (as directed November 23, 2021)
The proposed code amendment is informed by consultation with stakeholders as well as public meetings held in November 2021. More background on the proposal can be found on the project page.
