Car Seats-Safe Kids

Since 2003, the Tucson Police Department in collaboration with SAFE Kids Pima County and the Governor’’ s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), have partnered together to promote Child Passenger Safety for Pima County and surrounding areas. The Tucson Police Department is the leading agency in Child Passenger Safety for Pima County, Arizona with over thirty certified car seat technicians and two nationally certified instructors. They assist the general public in child passenger safety education and the proper installation of car seats.

The Tucson Police Department’’ s Car Seat Program regularly participates in community events such as: Be Safe Saturday, sponsored by Tucson Medical Center (TMC), and Kristi’’ s Kids Car Seat Give-Away, sponsored by GOHS and TMC, along with several other annual health fair related events. In addition, to these annual events the Tucson Police Department’’ s Car Seat Program and their respective technicians make themselves available to the public offering one-on-one education for parents and caregivers on the proper installation of car seats.
