Join the City of Tucson and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) in celebrating the completion of the Grant Road Improvement Project – Stone Avenue to Park Avenue on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at the southeast corner of Grant Road and Sixth Avenue.
Speakers will include Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild; RTA Vice Chair Mike Hammond; Ward 3 Council Member Paul Durham; Tucson Department of Transportation Deputy Director Robin Raine and Grant Road Corridor Task Force Member Alice Roe. At the event, refreshments will be served and following the speakers a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place.
Work to widen Grant Road from Stone Avenue to Park Avenue began in March 2017. The improvements include six vehicular travel lanes, protected bike/pedestrian street crossings, drainage improvements, water harvesting features, indirect left turns at Stone Avenue and First Avenue, new bike lane, new sidewalks, bus pullouts, bus shelters and public art.
