Downtown Tucson will be the host of the 19th Annual Downtown Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 21, 2013. The parade will stage on 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th Streets between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at 17th Street and Stone Avenue and proceeds Stone Avenue, turns east on Ochoa Street to Scott Avenue, then turns east on 12th Street to Sixth Avenue and ends at Sixth Avenue and 13th Street by Armory Park.
Attendees of the parade are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid traffic detours necessary for the event. Downtown Parade of Lights - Beginning Saturday, December 21, 2013, at 4 p.m., until approximately 8:30 p.m., 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th Streets will be closed between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. At approximately 5:30 p.m., Stone, Scott and Sixth Avenues will be closed between Broadway and 18th Street. All streets should reopen to traffic at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Motorists driving in the downtown area may experience traffic delays associated with this event and several road improvement projects. Attendees of the parade are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid traffic detours necessary for the event. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in these areas.
