On Monday, September 21, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin decorative stamped (brick pattern) asphalt work on Grande Avenue from Speedway Boulevard Congress Street.
Grande Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Congress Street to St. Mary’s Road on Monday, September 21, 2015 beginning at 6 p.m. and will reopen to through traffic at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Access to residential streets along Grande Avenue will be allowed.
The stamped brick asphalt work on Grande Avenue from St. Mary’s Road to Speedway Boulevard will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2015 through Friday, September 25, 2015. During this work one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained.
This pavement improvement project is part of the $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.
Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas. The schedule is subject to change due to equipment malfunction or inclement weather.
