On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) and Borderland Construction will temporarily close the Houghton Road and 22nd Street intersection to allow work crews to relocate traffic signals and shift traffic to the west side of the roadway.
Work hours for the traffic signal relocation and traffic shift will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The complete closure of the intersection is scheduled to take place between the above work hours for approximately two hours.
Tucson Police officers will direct travel at the intersection during the work.
The traveling public can expect delays when driving, bicycling or walking in this work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
This is a project of the Regional Transportation Authority. The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026. Details about the full plan are available at www.RTAmobility.com. The Regional Transportation Authority has a nine-member board with representatives from local, state and tribal governments. This project will be managed by the City of Tucson.
