IRONWOOD HILL DRIVE – SHANNON ROAD TO SILVERBELL ROAD
GREASEWOOD ROAD – IRONWOOD HILL DRIVE TO SPEEDWAY BOULEVARD
On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve the pavement conditions on Ironwood Hill Drive from Shannon Road to Silverbell Road.
Crews will begin the project by lowering manhole covers and water valve covers. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The following day, Thursday, February 26, 2015, crews will begin milling (removing asphalt) and repaving Ironwood Hill Drive. The milling and paving work is scheduled to be complete by Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Also on Thursday, February 26, 2015, crews from Sunland Asphalt will begin lowering manhole covers and water valve covers on Greasewood Road from Ironwood Hill Drive to Speedway Boulevard. On Monday, March 2, 2015, crews will begin milling (removing asphalt) and repaving Greasewood Road. The milling and paving work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, March 6, 2015. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
When crews have completed the milling and paving work for both projects, they will return during the week of March 9, 2015 to adjust manhole covers and water valve covers flush with the new asphalt.
This pavement improvement project is part of the $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.
Residential and business access will be maintained at all times during the project, except for when heavy equipment is directly in front of a driveway. At least one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained during this work. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas. The schedule is subject to change due to equipment malfunction or inclement weather.
