Old Pueblo Gran Prix - Travel Information

On Saturday, March 8, 2014, Downtown Tucson will host the Fourth Annual Old Pueblo Grand Prix. The first of four races begins at 3:15 p.m. and utilizes Church Avenue, Pennington Street, Stone Avenue, Council Street, Meyer Avenue, and Washington Street. There will be a “Fan Fair” located at Jacome Plaza in front of the Main Library. Old Pueblo Grand Prix - Beginning Saturday, March 8, 2014, at approximately 1 p.m.., Stone Avenue will be closed between Franklin Street/Toole Avenue and Congress Street. Also, Pennington Street between Church Avenue and Stone Avenue will be closed, as will be Church Avenue between Franklin Street and Pennington Street.  Alameda Street will be closed between Main Avenue and Scott Avenue. Additionally, Council Street between Stone Avenue and Meyer Avenue and Washington Street between Church Avenue and Meyer Avenue will be closed.  All streets should reopen by approximately 10 p.m.

Second Saturdays will also be occurring from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and attendees approaching from the north are encouraged to utilize Sixth Avenue as alternate access into downtown. Motorists driving in this area may experience traffic delays associated with this event so please plan accordingly.  The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in this area. Please watch for event participants, obey all traffic control, and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.
