Pantano Road - Escalante Road to Irvington Road Reconstruction Project

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation, will begin a reconstruction project on Pantano Road from Escalante Road to Irvington Road. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The project is scheduled to be complete by mid July 2015.

Crews will begin the project by diverting all travel on Pantano Road to the east side of the roadway or northbound travel lanes. There will be one lane of travel in each direction on Pantano Road. Crews will then mill (remove asphalt) the southbound Pantano Road travel lanes and begin excavating the dirt subgrade.

With this reconstruction project, new water lines will be installed in the work area. Once the new water lines are installed and the new dirt subgrade is in place, crews will repave the southbound travel lanes with new asphalt and traffic will be shifted to the newly paved roadway and work will begin to reconstruct northbound Pantano Road.

During the work, one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained.  The traveling public can expect delays when driving in the work area.  Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work area.
