Public Events at Cyclovia Tucson

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility (DTM) is seeking public input on two scheduled transportation projects: The Church Avenue Complete Street Project and the 18^th Street, 8^th Avenue, and S. Campbell/Pinal Bicycle Boulevards. DTM staff invite the public to review preliminary design plans for each project, ask questions, share concerns, and provide the project design teams with suggestions.

Located on 8^th Avenue between 24^th Street and 25^th Street

Church Avenue, Sixth Avenue to Cushing Street, is scheduled to be resurfaced in 2023 as part of the voter-approved Proposition 101 Tucson Delivers Better Streets Program. The proposed design will include the following improvements:

• Dedicated left turn lanes
• On-street parking and loading/unloading areas
• Buffered or protected bike lanes
• Bus-only waiting areas
• Pedestrian crossings

The 18^th Street, 8^th Avenue, and S Campbell/Pinal Bicycle Boulevards will include traffic safety improvements such as speed humps, neighborhood traffic circles, 20mph speed limit signs, and crossing enhancements for people walking and bicycling to approximately eight miles of neighborhood streets along three different corridors. The project is part of the voter-approved Proposition 407 Tucson Delivers Strong Connections Program that will calm traffic on neighborhood streets and expand the citywide low-stress biking and walking network.

El Departamento de Transporte y Movilidad (DTM) de la Ciudad de Tucson busca la opinión del público sobre dos proyectos de transporte programados: el Proyecto Complete Street de la calle Church Avenue y los bulevares para bicicletas de 18th St, 8th Ave y S Campbell/Pinal. Church Avenue, 6th Avenue hasta Cushing Street, está programada para ser repavimentada en el 2023 como parte de la Proposición 101 aprobada por votantes para el programa Tucson Delivers Better Streets. El diseño propuesto incluirá las siguientes mejoras:

• Carriles exclusivos para dar vuelta a la izquierda
• Estacionamiento en la calle y áreas de carga/descarga
• Carriles para bicicletas amortiguados o protegidos
• Áreas de espera exclusivas para autobuses

Los bulevares de bicicletas 18th St, 8th Ave y S Campbell/Pinal incluirán mejoras de seguridad vial, como topes de velocidad, rotondas vecinales, señales de límite de velocidad de 20 mph y mejoras en los cruces para personas que caminan y andan en bicicleta en aproximadamente ocho millas de calles vecinales a lo largo de tres diferentes corredores.
