IRONWOOD HILL DRIVE – SHANNON ROAD TO SILVERBELL ROAD – DELAYED 

GREASEWOOD ROAD – IRONWOOD HILL DRIVE TO SPEEDWAY BOULEVARD
IRVINGTON ROAD – OLD NOGALES HIGHWAY TO BENSON HIGHWAY

Work to resurface Ironwood Hill Drive from Shannon Road to Silverbell Road has been delayed until Thursday, March 19, 2015 due to weather conditions. The resurfacing work was scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. 

Crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will move their resurfacing operations to Greasewood Road from Ironwood Hill Drive to Speedway Boulevard. Crews will begin milling (removing asphalt) on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Paving work is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 and Thursday, March 5, 2015. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Also on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, crews will begin lowering manhole covers and water valve covers on Irvington Road from Old Nogales Highway to Benson Highway. The pre-lowering work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Milling and paving work will take place from Sunday, March 8, 2015 through Thursday, March 12, 2015 and will be done at night from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. 

This pavement improvement project is part of the $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.

Residential and business access will be maintained at all times during these projects, except for when heavy equipment is directly in front of a driveway.  At least one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained during this work. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas. The schedule is subject to change due to equipment malfunction or inclement weather.
