Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), are scheduled to begin lowering manhole covers and water valve covers on Craycroft Road from Grant Road to 29th Street on Monday, January 29, 2018, in preparation of an upcoming repaving project. With over 200 covers to lower, the work is scheduled to be complete by early March 2018. Crews will work Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
The milling (removing asphalt) and repaving work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 5, 2018 and is scheduled to be complete by Friday, March 23, 2018. To minimize the impact to the traveling public, the milling and paving work will take place at night, from about 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. For the safety of the traveling public, travel lane closures will be in place 24 hours a day.
Crews are scheduled to raise the manhole covers and water valve covers flush with the new asphalt in early April 2018.
The above schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. At least one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained during the work.
Business and residential access will be maintained at all times during the project. The traveling public can expect delays when driving in the work areas. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas.
