Road Recovery Resurfacing Project

Campbell Avenue – Ft. Lowell Road to Glenn Street
22nd Street – Tucson Boulevard to Alvernon Way

On Sunday, January 10, 2016, crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin milling and paving operations on Campbell Avenue from Ft. Lowell Road to Glenn Street.

The work will begin at noon on Sunday, with milling and paving operations lasting until approximately midnight. On Monday, January 11, 2016, crews will return at 3 p.m. to finish milling and paving Campbell Avenue. The work is scheduled to be complete by about 11 p.m. Monday night.

On Monday, January 11, 2016 and Tuesday, January 12, 2016, crews from Sunland Asphalt will lower manhole covers and water valve covers on 22nd Street from Tucson Boulevard to Alvernon Way. The utility lowering work will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, crews will begin milling and paving 22nd Street from Tucson Boulevard to Alvernon Way. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, January 29, 2016. Please note that the milling and paving work on the westbound travel lanes on 22nd Street from Country Club to Alvernon Way will be done at a later date. 

Electronic message boards will be in place to alert motorists of this upcoming work. The above schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather.

This pavement improvement project is part of the $100 million, five-year street bond program – Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.

Residential and business access will be maintained at all times during the project, except for when heavy equipment is directly in front of a driveway. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas.
